Geography & Maps

nullEdmonton is roughly 220 km (140miles) from the Canadian Rocky Mountains, how ever their peaks are not visible from the city. The North Saskatchewan River bisects the city and the many public river valley parks provide a unique urban escape area. Edmonton’s river valley constitutes the longest stretch of connected urban parkland in North America, and Edmonton has the highest per capita area of parkland of any Canadian city. In fact, Edmonton’s river valley is 22 times larger then New York City’s Central Park! (Click left hand image to enlarge)
