Opportunities in the Park
Start-ups and Opportunities in the park:
Hatching new companies at Advanced Technology Centre
From a distance, it looks like a group of greenhouses set into a grassy hill. The image of nurturing growth is apt.
Opened in 1988, the Advanced Technology Centre is an award-winning, 43,000-square-foot building where new companies get started and grow. It’s an incubator that can accommodate up to 33 start-ups. Small, creative, high-tech start-up companies are provided with flexible space up to 2,000 sq. ft.
Class-A facilities for modest rents
Rents for offices and labs are flexible and sustainable. Tenants must be research-oriented start-ups, and they must present a business plan.
Tenancy is reviewed annually and usually lasts from one to three years. By then, our start-up tenants have often grown sufficiently to move to larger spaces in the Edmonton Research Park.
Room to grow at Research Centre One
When emerging companies have moved beyond the incubation stage, Research Centre One provides the next-step setting. Typically, a tenant company is up and running and in the process of developing a prototype product. Often the tenant needs specialized space, such as wet labs or small manufacturing facilities.
Biotechnology Business Development Centre
This multi-tenant facility is designed to help biotech companies in the early stages of development. It provides subsidized, specialized lab space and services for companies with new ideas and products, making it easier for them to unleash their innovative and commercial potential.
Edmonton is home to more than 57% of Alberta’s biotechnology companies. The Centre is an opportunity to grow your biotech business in a stimulating environment with helpful networking opportunities.
