More than 3,500 experts from across Canada will convene at the Shaw Conference Centre (SCC) for the
tenth annual Canadian Cardiovascular Congress (CCC) beginning Saturday, Oct. 24 and running

The CCC is Canada's largest health and science conference and brings together the individuals who

studies, 25 interactive workshops, 19 participating organizations, debates, lectures and awards.

“We’re very pleased to be hosting this prestigious event and group of cardiovascular professionals. The
Shaw as host venue has a lot to offer from its greenery and open spaces to its award-winning dining and
beautiful views of Edmonton’s river valley,” says Mike Fitzpatrick, Vice-President and General
Manager of the Shaw Conference Centre. “We wish everyone a successful congress and anticipate this
major convention will produce significant revenue for downtown hotels, restaurants, shops and
entertainment venues.”

The CCC is an annual joint initiative of the Canadian Cardiovascular Society and the Heart and Stroke
Foundation. Last year’s congress, held in Toronto, produced an economic impact in the range of $3.3
million in direct spending according to the host venue - the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
