Tickets still available to hospitality awards program on May 13

A stellar lineup of local entertainers will perform at the 8th Annual You’re Welcome Edmonton (YWE) awards this Tuesday (May 13th) at the Winspear Centre for Music to celebrate Greater Edmonton’s hospitality and service industry.

YWE was created by Edmonton Tourism in 2000 to acknowledge the outstanding contributions of front-line tourism and hospitality industry staff who demonstrate exceptional customer service. This year’s YWE program will present awards in 17 categories.

“The You’re Welcome Edmonton Awards is the Academy Awards of our $1 billion regional tourism industry,” says Ken Fiske, Vice-President of Tourism, Events and Motion Pictures at Edmonton Economic Development Corp. “This year’s event will have unprecedented entertainment injected into the program.”

Here is the entertainment lineup for this year’s YWE Awards — all from Festival City in a Box presented by TransAlta — in order of appearance:

  • Whitey Houston with the Whitsundays

The program starts at 7:30 p.m. (doors open at 6:30 p.m.). Whitey Houston with the Whitsundays will entertain at a post-gala champagne reception from 9:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
