July 14, 2008 - SCC invites non-profits to an unprecedented community event

‘Everyone for Edmonton’ on Aug. 23 part of SCC’s 25th anniversary celebrations

The Shaw Conference Centre (SCC) is inviting all non-profit organizations in Greater Edmonton to an extraordinary community development event on Aug. 23 in celebration of SCC’s 25th anniversary.

Everyone for Edmonton will be a no-charge, high-profile opportunity for registered non-profit organizations to promote their mission, connect with supporters and recruit volunteers.

This will also be a unique, no-charge opportunity for regional residents to learn about hundreds of nonprofit organizations in one venue … and evaluate meaningful volunteer opportunities that can enrich our community.

“The success of the Shaw Conference Centre for the past 25 years has paralleled the success of Edmonton’s economy,” says Ron Gilbertson, president and CEO of Edmonton Economic Development Corp. which manages SCC. “We hope this event will encourage all regional residents to reflect on what they are doing to help their community … and offer a convenient one-stop marketplace to our region’s under-recognized but very dynamic non-profit sector.”

Benefits for non-profit organizations:

  • This will be a high-profile opportunity to promote your organization’s mission and funding needs to community-minded citizens.
  • This will be an ideal opportunity to recruit staff / volunteers.
  • This will be an invaluable networking event for Edmonton’s non-profit sector.
  • There are no exhibition charges.
