September 30, 2008 - EEDC garners three prestigious "Marketing Canada Awards"

The Edmonton Economic Development Corporation (EEDC) has won an impressive three national awards from the Economic Developers Association of Canada (EDAC). The awards recognize outstanding promotional literature and other marketing materials produced by municipalities across Canada. This year’s Marketing Canada Awards were part of EDAC’s 2008 annual conference which wrapped up in Fredericton, New Brunswick earlier this month.

EEDC’s three wins come in two categories:

  • Branding Application – for Edmonton Tourism’s highly successful “Live All Year” campaign.
  • Publications – where Edmonton Tourism won for the Live All Year / Edmonton Festival City E-Newsletter and EEDC won for its 2007 Annual Report.

“It’s always great to be recognized for work well done and it’s particularly gratifying to be recognized by a national peer group – the Economic Developers Association of Canada” says Jenifer Christenson, EEDC’s Managing Director, Marketing Services.

“Live All Year” began with marketing Edmonton as a city with numerous cultural and festival activities, growing into what it is today: the very successful Edmonton Festival City – Live All Year brand.

The Live All Year Edmonton Festival City Newsletter is a monthly e-publication. Launched in January of 2008, it is aimed primarily at travel media in provincial, national and international markets.

EEDC’s 2007 Annual Report is a reference document created for EEDC’s diverse stakeholders — in particular, regional business and political leaders – given to the 1,100 attendees of EEDC’s Annual Luncheon on March 19, 2008.

Edmonton Economic Development Corp. (EEDC) is a not-for-profit company owned by the City of Edmonton that is responsible for regional economic development, regional tourism marketing, the Shaw Conference Centre and Edmonton Research Park. Visit www.edmonton.com/eedc-corporate.
