The Endless Feast Comes to Edmonton!
- Public TV Series celebrates local, sustainable foods
Edmonton’s local food producers and regional cuisine are being featured this week in a television series to be aired on PBS stations in 2010. The producers and crew of The Endless Feast are on location around the city this week until Saturday, shooting segments on local farm producers. The highlight of the show is Friday evening’s feast, a five-course meal served on one very long linen-draped banquet table to 90 adventurous diners in an outdoor setting at Peas on Earth Organic Garden in St. Albert.
The Endless Feast travels the continent, bringing together local farmers and food artisans, food lovers and
star chefs to explore the connection between the earth and the food we eat, one incredible feast at a time.
This is the first location to be shot for Season Two of the half hour series. So far, Edmonton is the only Canadian city to be featured – most of this season’s episodes are to be shot in the U.S. The Edmonton Feast is being prepared by Chef Blair Lebsack of Madison Grill and Gail Hall of Seasoned Solutions over an open fire among verdant farm fields.
Local organizations to be featured in this episode are:
• Spring Creek Ranch
• En Sante Winery
• Sylvan Star Cheese
• Dirt Willy Ranch
• City Market downtown (north of Jasper on 104 Street)
• Old Strathcona Farmer’s Market
• Peas on Earth Organic Garden (feast location)
The Endless Feast is produced by Film Garden Entertainment in California and airs on Public Television stations nationwide.
The Endless Feast Edmonton is proudly sponsored by the Edmonton & Area Tourism Destination Region, the Destination Marketing Hotels and Travel Alberta.
