Tourism Week in Edmonton has officially launched. The summer festival season is underway with many fine festivals and world-class events to celebrate over the next few months, including:

Tourism Week in Edmonton is held in concert with Tourism Week in Canada, an annual nation-wide celebration profiling Canada’s $74.9 billion tourism industry, June 1 - 7. The theme this year is “Tourism Matters!” employing 1.66 million Canadians, supporting economic and community development, and generating more than $20 billion in tax revenues for all levels of government.

“Edmonton’s tourism industry generates more than a billion dollars in regional revenue and employs over 15,000 people,” says Ken Fiske, Vice-President of Economic and Tourism Development for Edmonton Economic Development Corp. (EEDC). “Summer is a time when our industry really shines from internationally renowned festivals to worldclass events to our family-friendly regional attractions."
